Alex & Ant: A blank canvas marquee designed around their story
Alex & Ant came to us with a blank canvas marquee in their back garden and the opportunity to create something completely their own.
Their brief was simple: design a wedding that reflected who they are as a couple, celebrated their story & travels together and included the little details that mattered most to them – including their much-loved dog, Marley. Every element was carefully considered to create a space that felt elegant, relaxed and unmistakably personal.
Design Concept
With an empty marquee to work from, we were able to shape every aspect of the guest experience. The overall design focused on clean, timeless styling layered with bespoke details that felt authentic to Alex & Ant. Rather than overwhelming the space, we let the personal touches do the talking, creating a wedding that felt considered from beginning to end.
Key Design Elements
Tablescape styling & dinnerware – We designed each table with carefully selected dinnerware, layered linens and thoughtful finishing touches to create an inviting setting for the wedding breakfast. The styling complemented the marquee beautifully, balancing a refined aesthetic with a relaxed atmosphere.
Bespoke stationery – Every guest was welcomed with an individual menu, finished with a personalised bow and a thank you note from the couple. These small details added personality to each place setting while tying seamlessly into the wider styling of the day.
Personalised details – Throughout the marquee we incorporated bespoke signage to guide guests around the venue, alongside custom details that made the celebration feel unique to Alex & Ant. For the evening, personalised pizza boxes became a fun talking point and added another thoughtful layer to the guest experience.
Celebrating Marley – It was important that Marley was part of the day, so we incorporated subtle illustrations and personalised details featuring their four-legged family member throughout the styling. These bespoke touches gave the wedding another layer of personality without ever feeling overdone.
“Both myself and my (now) husband are so pleased we employed Toast Styling!
Sian and Kate undertook the event at quite short notice, listening to our ideas and providing us options and thoughts on what could be achieved and how. The girls took real pride in their work and I would fully encourage anyone to have them as part of their planning for any occasion. Our guests noticed all the little details that we would have not of had a hope in hell of doing without the support, design and execution from Toast. Thank you so much!”
